dc.descriptionThere has been an increasing global understanding and appreciation of what a university is, transitioning from a teaching-centred approach to an increasingly research focused emphasis. This comes with a greater interest on internationalization, interdisciplinary engagements in grants, innovation, and community transformation. It is these that graduate training becomes central, as a space for skilling and building, for sustainable development. It is in this light that the Graduate Handbook in which we detail the procedures and processes of the graduate training, becomes extremely important. The Graduate Handbook therefore serves as both a procedural as well as an enabling framework, to facilitate graduate training, providing a formative procedure and a comprehensive resource for successful graduate training in Gulu University. I sincerely request that all graduate students and faculty staff take this opportunity to familiarise themselves with the rich information and knowledge in the Handbook. I appreciate the tireless teamwork and commitment of all the stakeholders who wrote this Handbook.
